The Albert Missry Foundation presents to you the inaugural Albert Missry Challenge which will be held on Sunday, August 26th at Elberon Park in Long Branch, NJ. Teams of 4 are encouraged to sign up to compete in a challenging and competitive obstacle course race. The approximately half-mile course will consist of 15 obstacles, including mental challenges as well. The event will be operated by 2 professional obstacle course race companies. Signups have already commenced via Eventbrite with an immediate expressed interest from the targeted 16+ aged individuals. The event will offer free admission to all spectators. There will be food trucks, food vendors, fitness professionals, face painting, raffles and so forth.

In order to commemorate Albert, we chose the obstacle course theme as it promotes camaraderie and challenge. While still allowing an element of competition, the “bring your own team” component allows people to work together in a common goal to succeed both mentally and physically. The obstacle course race theme acts as a metaphor to the one of the main goals of our foundation, that is to motivate, inspire and help those who have obstacles they yearn to overcome.

All proceeds will be going to the Albert Missry Foundation who’s mission is to educate, motivate and inspire the youth in the Jewish Community both at home in New York & New Jersey and ultimately at large. Since Albert’s passing, various initiatives have spurred and continue to persist, including Al’s Mission which is manifested by way of weekly motivational voice-recordings sent via email, men & women torah classes in both Brooklyn & Deal, challah bakes, bake sales and several other fundraisers promoted in Albert’s name and in conjunction with other established organizations. Our goal is to garner and optimize the support and true dedication we are receiving and seeing in our community as a means of bettering and perpetuating these initiatives and moreover creating various new and lasting initiatives in Albert’s memory.
